What Affects Value

Brand, model, reference, age, condition, originality, movement, and provenance can all affect a watch’s value. Replacement dials, hands, cases, or movements may also matter.

A watch does not need to be working to be of interest. Please tell us what it currently does rather than forcing the crown, winding it repeatedly, or opening the case yourself.

Photos That Help

  • The dial straight on and in good light
  • The case back, crown, bracelet, clasp, or chain
  • Any reference or serial numbers already visible
  • The movement only if the case is already safely open
  • Boxes, receipts, service records, and papers

For a group of watches, start with one overview photo and closer views of the strongest-looking pieces.
